Aite, saw this place really empty...so decided to post a topic...hmmm... well..these days it isn't a surprise to see people getting hooked up thru internet...before even meeting or seeing each other? how credible do you think "this kind of relationship" is? and have you ever yourself been involved in anything as such? If yes, please put forward your experience....

I enjoy my time in cyberspace a lot. And I have made a lot of friends there and I think about them. I love it. I would like to see and meet most of them.

Let me think how many I've met. I met Sabina, Manisha and Manasi a while back. I also met Shruti recently. So I think I've met four people. I'm not in touch with the others that I met anymore. But my count is also four. Lets make it five.

Bwahahahha I've never met anyone from the net in real life. It's kinda weird. Some people that I was not frank with in real life...we bonded really well when we started talking online. It's reverse for me lol.

hmm i had an internet fling.... OMG.. it ruined my life... (well.. in some ways..) it made me spend .. bout .. 80~90% of my time infront of the computer... i took like... 30% more time to complete my homeworks... GOSH!!! ..
oh well ... it didnt last too long.. THANKFULLy... hmm it lasted ... 2 months.. or less it think ... but.. it was pretty silly of me...
i think most of the time.. u wanna start an internet relationship , is because u felt the sudden attention given to u from a place full of strangers... (i *THINk...)

I agree there, Min...and yea...the internet lover seems perfect or, they make you believe that he/she is perfect and better in every way..not like in the real relationship....HELL YA! i spent a lot of my time infront of thE PC as well...I failed my exams for heaven's sake...I SACRIFICED A LOT! lol..now that may sound dramatic and very foolish, but when you're in there, and when you believe someone, everything feels credible. Well...now I don't think i'm ever gonna make the same mistake again...whatever happened is only something I can look back and laugh at!

I have not fallen in love, but my internet friends are as good if not better than my real life friends. I treasure each one of them. I wish I can meet all the main ones, most of whom have posted in this page, in my life.

Hi Becky, I am new here, but wanted to add to this thread. I was a member of several dating sites, met several of the ladies, I put in my profile that I respected 'honesty'...boy did I get honesty! Even was in a chat room with one of these "honest' ladies, when she decided she wanted to show me HOW honest she wanted to Be.. she wrote: I should Hate men, from my past experiences with them. But I don't, everyone is different... I Stabbed My EX-HUSBAND FOUR TIMES Ummm, 'CLICK' So Long Ms. Honest HOWEVER, I am Pleased to say, 4 months later I met and MARRIED my new wife ON LINE ...and We are Very happyI think the internet is a great place to meet people, and when it comes to dating sites, it gives you the chance to 'weed out' Axe Murderers!! ;D

I sometimes feel like I'm going to marry someone I meet over the internet. But I've never been to any of those dating sites. I think everything has to start with friendship.

I sometimes feel like I'm going to marry someone I meet over the internet. But I've never been to any of those dating sites. I think everything has to start with friendship. Very True! and this was no short term thing, months of on-line visiting, for months we met, several meetings, no sex, just meetings, outings, discovering, and yes, a friendship and compatibility did evolve......Never, ever, hurry in terms of the heart my friend.....been there...done that!

What I meant in my original message which looks very unclear when I read it again. I spend too much time in the internet. My feeling is that the person I eventually marry may be someone I may have meet on the internet.
So you are one example of starting a relationship over the internet. How much time was it on the internet and how much longer did you meet in real life before eventually marrying? Just curious.

we chatted on the dating site for 4 months, then we met, in person, We lived 2 1/2 hours apart. Then we continued to visit on line, and meet every weekend, in person for 16 months, then I asked her to move to my home and marry me. I Don't mind the curiosity at all, and the approach we used may not 'fit' everyones beliefs, and or, lifestyle However, thru this electronic medium, one can get to know, and oddly enough, ascertain alot of a persons feelings, likes/dislikes, etc. and get a 'feel' of what this person is all about. There are many reasons that when people meet in person, without the internet, that they fall into what they 'believe' is love, when their feelings may actually be tainted by lonliness, Lust, or just the human need for companionship. Seeing an atractive person on the street and wanting to meet them, is not nearly as safe. A beautiful 'package' sometimes contains the bitterest posion!

hmm.....I dunno...i have never been on a dating site, and I don't think I ever will be. Internet does give you a platform to be whoever the hell you wanna be, and maybe more...but really, I prefer the people I meet for real...i mean, yea, you can like and meet a person online, and later you guys can even see each other for real, but what is behind that mask, and what the person is really about, you can never really find out until you get to this person in a daily basis...but heck! it is a RISK THAT YOU GOTTA' TAKE! murderers, sexual preditor..name it, you might be talking to one rite now! *laughs evilly* lol... nyways, I don't think I will marry anybody that I meet online...not even love, ...sometimes, it's good to stay away from the machine...cuz real life, is harsh...different...LIVE for Real...not virtual!
