Any book you read that was really boring?
Some weeks ago I read Vanity Fair by Thackeray. It was pretty boring. I've always enjoyed classics, my favourite being Anna Karenina but Vanity Fair just didn't strike a chord with me.

There are many boring books that I've read. Most if not all of them are my textbooks.

Of course all school textbooks are boring...
No fictional books? Novels?

I can not think of any. In the first place I do not read many books. In the second place if I start a book and do not find it interesting, I do not continue. But I'd love to read Vanity Fair. I've heard the name before.

Oh alright. Yeah most people discontinue if they find a book boring but I have a policy that if I start a book, I should not leave it halfway. So I end up reading everything.
BTW a new movie has come out based on the book Vanity Fair. Someone once told me that it's a waste to read novels when you can watch their adaptations on screen and you can finish it in 2 hours. But I beg to differ when it comes to classics.

I somewhat disagree, i quite like Vanity Fair...Anna Karenina is probably one of the most boring books I've read. The way Anna ended her life was most unimpressive and something that took me by surprise. In the end I felt like I wasted my time. But of course, we have different opinions.

Maybe I should find Vanity Fair published by another publishing house. Or just a better edition.

Well they say there's nothing new...and it doesn't have the good ol'd Sidney Sheldon's familiar touch?

I have read book one of Anna Karenina. I read that on my cellphone about two weeks ago. I haven't read since then even though I did enjoy book one.
I also have Vanity Fair stored in my mobile phone. I'll read them both during the next year and tell you what I feel.
