Australia swung the momentum back in their way. Glen McGrath took five wickets the first of which was his five hundredth in test match cricket to have England reeling at 7/92 at close of play on the first day. Earlier England had been 5/21 after McGrath took the first five wickets to fall.

YESTERDAY ENGLAND WERE ON 156 WITH FIVE WICKETS ON HAND WITH THE REST FIVE WICKETS LOST. TODAY THE MATCH IS DELAYED DUE TO THE RAIN. STILL ENGLAND REQUIRES 264 MORE RUNS TO WIN THE MATCH. KP Pietersen IS MAKING A GOOD START MAKING 42 RUNS OF 71 BALLS AND SLIGHTLY LEADING ENGLAND TO VICTORY. SHANE WARNE AND BREET LEE ARE ON A GOOD FORM AND KEEPING A LOT PRESSURE ON THE BATTING SIDE. THINK ALL THE BALLS OF LEE ARE BEING FIRED LIKE BULLETS AND SHANE WARNE'S JUST TURNING AND TURNING TRYING TO MAKE A 360 DEGREE ROTATION TO CLICK OF THE WICKETS.

Australia were 17 runs behind Englands first innnings total with five wickets still in hand when I checked cricinfo a while back. Australia need to win this match to retain the ashes even though they can't win this series. I am rooting for England to get the trophy back after sixteen years. But I won't be disappointed if Australia win with a good performance.
