Today we finished last week's moderation session before moving on to our usual smart club session. So, the smart club will also have a moderation session starting next week. Apeckshya did a very good job and people did find a few flaws in it. So, I was part of a very knowledgable audience. I thought it was very well presented and she can do great things in the future if she carries on like this.
Well, our co-ordinator today was Aastha Joshi. She did a very good job and like me failed to summarise the speeches after they were spoken. I think she also messed up the order by inviting the Ah! counter before the grammarian and the time keeper.
The pre-decided speaker was Uday Raj Adhikari. He spoke on the topic which was about the recently released code of conduct for the INGOs. His point was that it was a good conduct and only clause 14 wasn't good enough. He agreed that the time for the release wasn't good. I think the commentator, Nischal, did more than his job by lashing out at the speaker.
The next speech was by Ajay who they say looks somewhat like me. It sounded like Ajay had memorised his speech. At times he sounded like he was reading from memory. However, I don't think his referral to the piece of paper he had was as serious as the commentators pointed out.
The two good speeches before made me even more nervous. The topic given to me five minutes before my speech made things worse. I'll write more about my speech in the next post. I think my commentators were very good and they actually found a few good things in my terrrible speech.
After my speech, the commentators ,all six of them, came and gave their comments. The Ah! counter spotted 20 Ah!s about 20 pauses and 10 ands in my speech which was 3 minutes and 39 seconds long according to the timekeeper. The gramarian spotted out only one grammatical error and I forgot what it was.
So that was all about today's session. Next week I'm a co-grammarian along with Astha who also played this role last week. I disagree with most others and would like to see only one grammarian do the job. But even now, I can become a grammarian on two weeks and fulfil all my desires.
Next week, I may be going to the smart club as a civil engineer. I've been going there regularly and so I feel that at least 2 of the 24 by 7 hours every week are being utilized.
