Today was a wonderful day at the smart club. It's almost a quarter past one. But I will write this entry and post it before heading home for some food.
We had a couple of observers who a few of the members had brought along. Professor Chris Lingle was also with us today. It was lovely listening to him even though it was one of the reasons why our session was longer than usual. And on top of that, I wasted more time on the road departing with the friends.
During the opening round of introductions, I was actually signing the attendance when it was my turn to speak. I said, "Good morning, everybody. I am Anup Pokhrel." Then after a short pause I added that I am a civil engineer. I have been one for the last 24 hours.
I was supposed to be the gramarrian along with Astha who didn't come. So, I got my wish of being the sole gramarrian fulfilled. I have always considered myself as someone with a good sense of grammar. I never really read those rules but then again, I feel like I still need to be sure of a few things.
There were a few grammatical errors in everyone's speech. Apeckchhya and Manogya, however, were remarkably good grammatically. When I was there to share my observations, I couldn't figure out the mistakes from the points that I'd noted. That's when I realised that two gramarrians alternating would have done the job. This week we had three commentators less at the rate of only one per speaker.
The speeches were delivered by Lhakpa, Manish, and Bijaya. They were the predecided, selfdecided, and impromptu speakers respectively. The speakers were all better than my speech last week but then again, there was something missing. The commentators also had some interesting comments. Apeckshya, Dev Kumar, and Ajay were the three commentators today.
The time keeper and Ah! counter were Rita and Sanju. They also did a good job.
We started a moderation session this week. I'll write about that in the next thread. I want to make sure I post this because sometimes there is a sudden electricity failure.
